Student Fit

Lessons at Corker Hill Music are best suited for motivated students, roughly age 10 through adult, with a genuine interest in developing their musicianship, creativity, and contemporary skills.

Whether you're an intermediate player deepening your fluency or a dedicated beginner building real foundations, what matters most is focus, motivation, and curiosity, not where you're starting from.

If you play another instrument at an intermediate to professional level and want to deepen your understanding of music theory, this is also a strong fit. Working through harmonic, melodic, and keyboard concepts can open up new ways of thinking about your own playing and the music you're drawn to.

Advanced classically trained pianists are also welcome, especially those looking to bring their technique into contemporary or early jazz styles. I can help with that transition through harmony, theory, and ear training.

Advanced classical performance repertoire and advanced jazz improvisation fall outside my studio's current focus. For that work, a dedicated specialist may be the better fit.

For very young children or early-childhood instruction, a specialist in that stage is often the better starting point, and I'm always glad to point you in the right direction.

Pricing & Format

Lessons are currently offered in the following formats:
30 Minutes — $45
45 Minutes — $60
60 Minutes — $80

Lesson length recommendations may vary depending on the student’s age, experience level, and goals. In most cases, 45 or 60-minute lessons are recommended for students pursuing more in-depth musical development. Every lesson is hand-crafted around your specific needs and goals, drawing on your background, interests, and progress to shape what we focus on each week.

Lessons are currently offered primarily online via Zoom. Limited in-person instruction in Westford, MA and the surrounding area may be available for select students depending on scheduling and location.

Scheduling

Lessons are scheduled individually through Calendly and offered around an active performance and studio schedule. After we connect and complete a free consultation together, I'll follow up with a scheduling link. New lesson requests and any schedule changes are requested at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.

My availability varies week to week based on performance and studio commitments. Due to current limitations with online scheduling, recurring lesson times cannot be automatically reserved through Calendly. However, unless I am traveling or otherwise unavailable, I keep dedicated teaching time open Tuesday through Thursday. If you would like to reserve a regular weekly time during those days, feel free to reach out directly at: lessons@corkerhillmusic.com and I will do my best to hold that time for you.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations and schedule changes. Lessons canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice are generally forfeited except in cases of emergency.

Repeated short-notice cancellations or frequent rescheduling may result in limited scheduling availability moving forward.

Payments

Payment is due at the time of lesson unless otherwise arranged. Venmo is currently the preferred payment method.
